Concordia University Highlights

The Concordia University "Meet the Artists" reception was a rousing success! Highlights included a turnout of 150+ people. Greg Lewis,Mark's former graphic design instructor and mentor, who recommended and hung the show, was in attendance. Bob Dozono,Mark's former watercolor instructor and mentor, was also in attendance.
Special thanks to Lorraine Richey for the fabulous photos that she shot at the event. Family, friends(including
Chief's daughter Jolyn, and her husband Vance Manchester),and new friends and acquaintances helped to make the event special. Thanks also to Linda Church for her exceptional organizational skills!

On Monday,March 17,the Concordia University first annual "School Day"event was held. As a group we hosted over 200 children, school faculty, and community members. Mark fielded questions from students from 5 different schools, ranging from third thru eighth grades about his work. Needless to say,it was enlightening and entertaining.
The third event tied to the Concordia University show was held on Sunday,March 30. A Facebook group headed up by former theatre critic Bob Hicks, and LeRoy Goertz,Art of Reconciliation founder, convened and
toured the "Honoring Our Native-American Art" exhibition. Mark was honored to meet the illustrious and
unassuming Native artist,Lillian Pitt(Warm Springs,Wasco).
